You are happy when you are nothing else. To be happy, stop trying to be happy, and start trying to be nothing else.
Here I am not talking about temporary phases of happiness that come from specific achievements or events, such as winning an important deal, or a close friend’s marriage. These phases do not last very long since we have a tendency to quickly shift our focus to what we have not achieved, and events that have not happened.
I am talking about happiness as a state of mind that makes you feel at peace and calm inside. You feel positive and have the inner confidence to meet any challenges that life throws at you. You live in the present while continuously creating a more powerful future.
This happy state of mind is your natural way of being. This is how you were born. You can be happy, if you can stop being stressed, worried or negative. Meditate daily for ten minutes to identify thoughts that create stress, worry or negativity. Consciously ignore these thoughts. They will keep coming back. Keep ignoring them.

Meditation helps but to relieve stress is harder said than done ... well sometimes....

Will give i a try soon.
Thanks for sharing and Merry X'mas
I agree its difficult to relieve stress. Requires constant practice. All the best. Merry X'mas
you know i agree with it completely. We all have it in mind only. One is as much happy as he/she wants to be :)
We can do it better than anyone else. The true happiness is when you have no reasons for being happy, when you are JUST happy :)
Thich Nhat Hanh says "Smile You Are Alive" - We forget that just being alive is a temporary state, a miracle if you will. You might as well enjoy yourself whatever comes and get the most out of it. Think about the temporary nature of everything while meditating or practicing yoga or driving your car and you will see that stress is unnecessary - in the end everything goes away.
You write very well.
